New Intel mobile microprocessor has been added to Intel's pricelist. The newly released CPU, which belongs to Skylake-U class of processors with low or ultra low power consumption, has a model number of i7-6660U. The processor replaced Core i7-6650U, that was available in laptop PCs since last September. The Core i7-6660U offers 200 MHz higher operating frequency at the same price level as the 6650U.

The Intel pricelist provides the following details about the i7-6660U model: 14nm manufacturing technology, 2 CPU cores, clocked at 2.4 GHz, and 4 MB of last level cache. The processor is also capable of running 4 threads at once. Considering that the i7-6660U replaces the i7-6500U SKU, we suspect that both have the same type of integrated graphics, Iris 540, and the same 15 Watt TDP. The i7-6660U processor should support most Skylake extensions and technologies, including AVX 2, AES, Turbo Boost, and VT-x / VT-d virtualization. The microprocessor is priced at $415.
